How to detect whether the bonding strength of the inner and outer layers of double layer pipe meets the requirements?

Publish Time: 2024-08-02
The bonding strength of the inner and outer layers of double layer pipe is one of the key indicators to measure its quality and performance. To detect whether it meets the requirements, we can start from the following aspects.

First, the tensile test method can be used. Make a certain number of double layer pipe samples, use a professional tensile testing machine to apply axial tension to the samples. As the tension gradually increases, observe whether the inner and outer layers are separated and record the tension value at the time of separation. If the tension value reaches or exceeds the specified bonding strength standard, it means that the bonding strength meets the requirements. This method can intuitively reflect the overall bonding strength of the double layer pipe.

Secondly, the shear test is also an effective detection method. Fix the double layer pipe sample on a suitable fixture and apply shear force to simulate the shear stress that may be received in actual use. Similarly, record the shear force when the inner and outer layers begin to separate. The shear test can more accurately detect the bonding strength of the double layer pipe under lateral force.

In addition, the ultrasonic detection method can also be used. Using the difference in the propagation characteristics of ultrasonic waves in different media, the bonding interface between the inner and outer layers is detected by transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves. If the bonding is good, the reflection and transmission of the ultrasonic wave will be relatively stable; if there are defects in the bonding, the ultrasonic wave signal will change. This method has the advantage of being non-destructive and can quickly detect double layer pipes over a large area.

At the same time, in the actual testing process, it should be noted that the preparation and selection of samples should be representative, and the testing environment should meet the standard requirements. For double layer pipes whose test results do not meet the requirements, the reasons should be analyzed. It may be that the improper processing of the inner and outer layer materials in the production process, unreasonable temperature control and other factors lead to insufficient bonding strength. By continuously improving the production process and strengthening quality control, the bonding strength of the inner and outer layers of double layer pipes can be improved to ensure that they can be used safely and reliably in various application scenarios.
